Does it need batteries to swim?

No batteries required! The GlideRay is 100% powered by physics. It uses a specialized hydrodynamic design and buoyancy to glide through the water. You simply hold it underwater, release it, and watch it zoom forward and upward on its own. It’s endless fun without the hassle of charging.

How does it actually work?

It works like an underwater paper airplane that flies up. When you release it at the bottom of the pool, its foam core wants to float to the surface, but its wings convert that upward energy into forward motion. It creates a smooth, long glide that kids love to chase.

Is it suitable for shallow kiddie pools?

We recommend the GlideRay for standard swimming pools (above ground or in-ground) with a depth of at least 3-4 feet. Because it relies on gliding from the bottom to the top, it needs a bit of depth to perform its best tricks. It won't work well in very shallow wading pools or bathtubs.

Can it break easily?

We designed the GlideRay to be durable for active pool play. It features a solid foam body and flexible plastic wings that can withstand bumping into pool walls or being grabbed by excited swimmers.

What is the best game to play with it?

"Catch the Ray" is the most popular toys for boys right now! One person releases the glider from the deep end floor, and other players race to see who can catch it before it breaches the surface. It’s an excellent way to help kids build confidence in underwater swimming and breath-holding.

What age is this best for?

While it is safe for ages 4+, we find that kids boys 6 to 12 get the most enjoyment out of it because they are often better swimmers who can dive down to release or chase it. However, younger kids love watching it "magically" swim up to them on the surface!
